Can an Arizona LMFT see clients in other states by telehealth?
With an Arizona license, marriage and family therapists can add 8 states by telehealth without a new full license. You need permission in the state where your client is during the session.
No compact: No interstate licensure compact exists for marriage and family therapists, enacted or in model-legislation form found on official sources. The Counseling Compact FAQ states it plainly and LMFTs generally do not qualify for the Counseling Compact. MFTs need a license in each client's state (some states offer endorsement or temporary telehealth registration).
